Math Course 1 - Fractions
The subject of fractions involves part number concepts, the commutative properties of numbers, arithmetic operations with fractions and solving fractions word problems. Understanding the subject of fractions is critical to learning higher math concepts.
Organized with one lesson for each key fractions’ learning objective, Math Course 1 - Fractions has a logical and easy to follow learning path. There are 30 lessons organized in 7 Units. Tests are used to confirm understanding of each learning objective.
The Course learning objectives align to math curriculum standards for grades 3 to 6. The course can be used at grade level for enrichment, earlier for accelerated learning, or in middle school for remediation. The Course should be successfully completed before entry to high school.

While the instructional content has remained the same as the original course, there are some important changes to the learning environment and the technology that administers the course:
- All instruction is on-screen and has audio-support
- Each lesson ends with a quiz to check the student’s understanding of the lesson’s objective; this is in addition to Unit level tests
- There is a new graphical interface and a main menu where the student can view progress and test reports
- The course can be taken online, by subscription (go to www.corelearningonline.com)
- The course is better enabled for use at schools with large numbers of students; the course is SCORM compliant and the course files can be incorporated in learning management systems used by school districts and can be loaded on network servers

Math Course 1 - Fractions v1.0
The original Math Course 1 - Fractions is for Windows PC use only. Instruction is provided in a printable pdf format. Testing is done at the Unit level but not after each lesson. Unit test results are saved and can be viewed in an administration area by parents, tutors or teachers.
